SAMBURU NATIONAL PARK

Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu

Your driver/guide will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel, residence or Nairobi airport. Then we’ll head out in our 4 x 4 Jeep over Kenya’s central highlands enjoying views of small, local coffee, tea, sisal and pineapple farms.We’ll also pass the imposing form of Mt Kenya, the pride of our country and its tallest peak.We’ll spend the night at sopa lodge.

Day 2: Samburu full day

We start the day early with a refreshing breakfast before heading out on a morning game drive when wildlife is most active. We drive back to the lodge for lunch. Samburu Reserve is a unique wildlife conservation haven famous for an abundance of rare species of animals such as the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx. The reserve is also home to a population of close to 900 Elephants. Large predators such as the Lion, Leopard and Cheetah are an important attraction (Kamunyak the famous Lioness that adopted a baby Oryx is a resident in the reserve). Samburu is in fact one of the better locations in Kenya to spot Leopard. Wild dog sightings are also a common attraction to this unique protected area and Birdlife is abundant with over 450 recorded species. The afternoon is at leisure or you will set out on a game drive as you explore this reserve and continue to spot unique animals.

Day 3: Samburu – Nairobi

 After breakfast, you will leave the reserve for a drive back to Nairobi where your safari ends with a drop-off at the airport or hotel.
